This
exhibition focused upon a civilization which preceded the Roman Empire. Our task was to
shop-fabricate key elements of the ruins that would tell the story of this civilization
which was located in Italy around 700 B.C.
The design firm provided only photographs from which we were to replicate certain specific
areas. This led to the creative ideas we used to fabricate many elements involving
woodwork, E.I.F.S material and faux finishes.
The most difficult task to achieve was to plan, fabricate and build while bearing in mind
that this exhibition would travel. Hence, all elements would have to be designed for
eventual dis-assembly and to the minimum specifications that would allow swift but secure
portability.
