Titanic

This Wonder Series exhibition explored one of the most tragic disasters in modern history. Our company recreated many areas of the ship itself. We built cafe' veranda decks, ships hulls, portholes, propellers and deck sides.

The highlight of the exhibition was a reconstructed deck of the ship. This work was probably as close to the actual construction of an artifact as is possible. A portion of this interactive display was created by painting a concrete floor with a wave pattern encircled by a curved wall bearing constellations simulated by using phosphorescent paint.

Imagine leaning against one of the ship's handrails looking out over a frozen horizon and knowing that the ship is sinking with no rescuers in sight. With ensemble music playing in the background and empty life boat hooks hanging from the ceiling, you could actually experience the stinging sobriety and dramatic hopelessness the actual victims must have felt. This element of the exhibition was one of our most humbling achievements.
